Description
In this course, you will continue learning the basics of programming, but using TypeScript as your introduction into Object Oriented Programming. You will use these principles to develop a basic game engine and develop small games.
Learning Outcome
You apply fundamental object-oriented programming principles, such as abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism to realise simple software solutions that demonstrate industry standards for good quality.
Indicators
  • Clear, well-structured, and maintainable code that follows programming conventions and best practices
  • Application of basic object oriented principles in simple programming tasks
  • Design of simple algorithms to solve problems using logical reasoning to achieve the desired outcome
Activities
  • You will be introduced to TypeScript within the the NodeJS environment.
  • You will learn the fundamental object oriented concepts, including classes, objects, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism
  • You will learn how to abstract and encapsulate problems and solutions and use existing classes to solve problems
  • You will implement simple object oriented software programmes using a simplified game engine following industry-standard practices for good quality
